Month 71 – Grand View – 1/21/2010 & 1/25/2010

Nuttall and Quat experienced a very real possibility of the streak ending. The schedules and weather were not cooperating. On 1/21/2010, the duo had to walk the front 9 of Grand view, but with hectic schedules and limited daylight, they needed to pause the round. On Monday, 1/25, Nutt and Quat met up and finished what they started by playing the back 9. The weather then got awful throughout the whole eastern US and the streak pushed into another calendar year.

Month 70 – Grand View – 12/14/2009

A colder Monday afternoon round at Grandview kept the streak alive. Nutt and Quat had to pass a group of Asian guys on the 5th hole, played 6, 7, 8 and 9 and then went back to 5 to finish the front. Quat also took a conference call on holes 9 – 15.

Month 69 – North Park – 11/18/2009

Nuttall and Quat decided to take advantage of a beautiful day in November by playing North Park. Unfortunately, so did everyone else in Pittsburgh. A very typical slow municipal course and Quat and Nutt played with 2 guys on the front and started to blow through the back. Play slowed up again as we caught up to a five-some. The duo finished 18 as the sun was setting on this beautiful day.

Month 68 – Hartmann’s Deep Valley – 10/29/2009

As the month blew by, Nuttall and Quat made an early morning jaunt over to Seneca Valley’s home course. The 2 played the back 1st and then the front and Quat’s 1st trip to Hartmann’s was memorable only for the streak it continued, not his horrid play.

Month 67 – Longaberger – 9/24/2009 (Nuttall) – Suncrest – 9/26/2009 (Quat)

Quat played Suncrest on a rainy Saturday morning to continue the streak and Nuttall and Kush played 36 holes at Longaberger in Ohio.

Month 66 – Lindenwood – 8/30/2009 (Nuttall) Shelridge – 8/15/2009 (Quat)

Again, the streak of not playing together continued. Quat played Shelridge in New York and Nuttall played Lindenwood with Kratz and T-Ster. Nuttall fired an impressive 76 on his round.

Month 65 – Shore Gate – 7/12/2009 (Nuttall) Reserve Run – 7/26/2009 (Quat)

As Nuttall and Quat’s schedules started to get hectic, Quat and Nuttall played rounds and each extended the streak. Nuttall played Shore Gate with Bundick and Quat played Reserve Run with Neil and Baier.

Month 64 – Reserve Run – 6/28/2009

Nuttall and Quat made a Sunday afternoon jaunt to Reserve Run. Nuttall and Quat played the round with heavy hearts as they learned of the passing of Billy Mays. Both players played well, but were a few putts away from playing really well.

Month 63 – Totterridge – 5/23/2009

Nuttall was playing this course for the 2nd time and Quat his 1st. Nuttall nearly had a hole in 1 on the 17th hole, which is a par 4. His ball continued to roll and he birdied the hole.

Month 62 – North Park – 4/27/2009

Nuttall and Quat met at the North Park at about 7 AM on a nice spring morning. The two basically were trapped in a time machine as the old men harassed the duo like they used to 15 years ago. Overall, it was a nice round and we were done in a reasonable amount of time.

Month 61 – Pittsburgh National – 3/8/2009

What has slowly become a staple for our March rounds, Nuttall and Quat met for another early morning round at the course formerly known as Deer Run. The weather jumped above 50 degrees and a new year of the steak begins.

Month 60 – Grand View – 2/26/2009

">">

Again, we pushed this streak as Nuttall and Quat played for the 60th straight Month - 5 Years. Snow hit Pittsburgh hard on Sunday 2/22, but Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday we had sun and the snow all melted, which allowed Nutt and Quat to stay local. A 48 degree day as we were the 1st two to arrive at Grandview. The streak turning 60, great February weather and a celebratory lunch afterwards at Fiore's, led to a memorable day. A 77 for Nuttall and 88 for Quat on the anniversary date.

Month 59 – The Crossing – 1/31/2009

In what has turned out to be the closest to the streak ending, Nutt and Quat met at Sheetz in Irwin at 5:45 AM and drove to Fredricksburg, VA. In Fredricksburg, VA, the course we had intended to play had a frost delay and a shotgun start at noon. The man working the clubhouse called around and found a course in Richmond, VA. We drove down and were put on the tee and paired up with a local guy named Herbert. Herbert was beyond classic though he had never heard of the Pittsburgh Penguins. We all played a very very slow front behind a 23 group Tournament played at that course every year for the last 27 years on the Saturday before the Super Bowl. Quat and Nutt had to skip some holes and played 1-9 then 1-6 then 2 - 5 - 6 and the streak goes on. Quat walked in the door in Wexford at 9:02 PM. The Steelers won Super Bowl XLIII less than 24 hours later.

Month 58 – Grand View – 12/29/2008

The duo pushed the round near the final days of the month. Nutt and Quat walked the 1st 5 holes and then went to the club house only to get a cart. The duo flew through the rest of the round as we dodged another bullet.

Month 57 – Grand View – 11/27/2008

Nutt and Quat went after Grandview on Thanksgiving morning. In the wake of finding a renter and moving the next day, Quat found time for a round. We walked the front 9 and got a cart at the turn. On the back, we say 3 other golfers. 1 of the guys was a dead look-a-like to Hiro from the show Heroes. Nuttall received an incredible kick off the cart path on 15 for a par. Snow was on some greens but an overall memorable day and one for the ages. After the round, we went to confront Hiro and until we were 2 feet away, we were still convinced it was him.

Month 56 – Hickory Heights – 10/12/2008

Nuttall, Quat, Kush and Mazur player Hickory Heights on a nice fall morning. The round had no major highlights until the players finished the 18th hole. In the parking lot, in spot, was a cab. This is the same course that on 10/7/2005, Mazur tried to hail a cab to no avail. 3 years later, the meter was running. An incredible ironic twist that could only happen to Mazur.

Month 55 – Castle Shannon – 9/1/2008

Nutt, Quat, Kush and Mr. Jill played the course with the Gauntlet. Mr. Jill was less than impressed with this place. T-ster had an incredible 2nd shot on the 18th hole which was a very near eagle.

Month 54 – Castle Shannon – 8/17/2008

Nuttall and Quat had an early round out in Ohio and were charged $25.00 for the round. A very nice round with no one in front of us for a 3 hour 11 minute round. Nuttall had a near eagle on the 11th hole, which is a beast.

Month 53 – Oglebay Speidel Couse – 7/12/2008

Nuttall, Quat, Bundick and Kush headed to WV for a very nice round under amazing conditions. There were random deer on the course and on our way out, there was a detour. In a state of confusion, we followed a car that had a driver that looked like Art Nussbaum. Kush nearly had a hole in one on the 17th hole.
