Month 114 – The Club at Blackthorne – 8/4/2013
The Pittsburgh Post Gazette had been doing a special on their website all summer of the best Par 3’s. One stood out, which we hadn’t played called the The Club at Blackthorne, which was an Arnold Palmer 9 hole course. We played the front from the white tees and the back from the black and this little hidden gem had been uncovered.
In what is turning out to be an annual round, Oglebay was also played in August. Quat had some early round yips and the picture perfect summer day kept everyone in suspense until the end. Rew needed to 2 putt from about 14 feet for his 1st sub 100 round. After a rough 1st putt, his second skidded by and he had a bitter sweet career best score along with a miracle blind shot on 15.
